Cora Hiatt Chenoweth hired a British historian that traced the name to a certain John Trevelisek. His youngest son John built a new stone house around 924. The Cornish word for new house being Chynowyth. Cora has several pictures of the 1,000 year old house in her book (Hiatt 1925 page 11). (Chenoweth's Note: There is no direct decadence from John Trevelisek).
